Job Description:

  • Review work center processes and ensure they adequately envelope the current practices. Evaluate processes to determine where improvements can be made and aid in implementing any necessary process corrections.

  • Develop new processes and write/generate supporting documentation for ensuring standardized implementation.

  • Identify deficiencies in processes and implement solutions that improve reliability and/or efficiency in the given work center(s).

  • Help to improve throughput of QA groups in assigned work centers through use of Lean Manufacturing Principles and other similar manufacturing process tools.

  • Review nonconformance reports to identify trends and provide recommendations for corrective action.

  • Review nonconformance reports and assist in developing Root Cause / Corrective Action plans through detailed analysis.

  • Generate lessons learned and corrective action reports for inclusion into training packages for QA work center groups.

  • Develop training material for assigned work center QA group(s).

  • Produce metric packages for management review

  • Assist with in-process and final inspections on product throughout the SMF work centers and ensure product build documentation review and end-item data package review is being done in accordance with ISO specifications.


  • College degree from accredited 4-year institution or 2-year Associate’s Degree with plan for completing 4-year bachelor's degree

  • Able to read engineering documentation and inspect to drawings and parts lists, inspection plans, and supplemental instructions

  • Solid knowledge base in electrical or mechanical field of expertise

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in either Electrical or Mechanical / Electro-mechanical field of work performing Quality Engineering function

  • Fluent in use of Microsoft applications and ability to quickly learn new computer programs/applications.

  • Excellent technical writing skills is mandatory.

  • Knowledge base in Cause Analysis tools, such as Ishikawa, FMEA, DOE, etc.

  • Knowledge base in Lean Manufacturing Principles and/or Six Sigma Principles.


  • Working knowledge of TipQA and/or Costpoint database applications

  • Knowledge in how to read schematics and wirelists

  • Willingness to travel (though not often) in support of S/C level activities.

  • Specific Lean or Six Sigma training from accredited institution.
