Northrop Grumman Innovation Systems - National Security Space (NSS) Business Unit seeks Project Systems Engineer at our Dulles, VA campus to lead project security operations for multiple spacecraft development programs. NGIS is looking for a proactive engineer to organize security efforts and address security considerations throughout lifecycle program development – program conception through launch and operations. Must have strong multitasking capability to handle disparate programs and payloads, with diverse security and customer requirements. Prefer applicant to have experience with National satellite and ground systems; familiarity with systems engineering process a plus, but not a requirement.
Applicants must have experience with the following:
Experience with multi-level security operations and procedures for networks, ground systems, and physical security
Experience with security protocols, policies, and standards for diverse national security customers – experience working directly with customer security offices a strong desirement
Security Compliance standards for accreditation and approval of classified working spaces, networks, and information assurance standards
Development of Program Protection plans to protect program Critical Program Information (CPIs)
In collaboration with internal and external security stakeholders, to include NSS’s Certified Program Security Officers, development and support for obtaining approval of program protection (P2) plans
Development of integration and test facility concepts of operation plans that are compliant with multiple stakeholder security requirements
Support generation of facility accreditation materials to ensure program compliance with stakeholder security requirements
Collaborate/Direct Information Assurance and Information Security Systems personnel in establishing DISA accredited, cross-domain networks supporting integration and test of assets at Northrop Grumman facilities as well as at external stakeholder sites
Work closely with integration and test management as well as program systems engineers to develop interface control documents and asset integration plans guaranteeing program security requirements are incorporated into overall program development efforts
Collaborate with engineering team to develop cryptographic handling processes and procedures; coordinate with customers to ensure approval and secure transfer of GFE cryptographic equipment
Position requires BA degree in STEM or Information Services/Assurance or Cybersecurity and 10 years of related experience. Position will require travel anticipated to be 25% time.
Top Secret Clearance, with Sensitive Compartmented Information access required – SSBI preferred.
Education and Experience
Requires BS in Engineering & 7 years or Masters in Engineering & 5 years or PhD & 2 years.
