Northrop Grumman, Special Mission Aircraft (SMA) is seeking anAir Transportation Specialist at our Fort Worth, TX site to support the sustainment lifecycle of Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) aircraft. The candidate will plan, schedule and process personnel and equipment for air and ground transportation activities. Prepares and maintains air movement records and reports. Provides in-transit visibility over passenger and cargo movement operations. Plans, organizes, directs, and coordinates air transportation activities. Supplements existing policies, and establishes procedures to process, load, document, and report passengers and cargo transported by air. Uses automated systems to provide in-transit visibility and to document passenger/equipment movement operations. Verifies eligibility of cargo offered for airlift. Ensures all cargo documentation, packaging, labeling and marking requirements are achieved. Selects, assembles, palletizes and prepares cargo for transportation. Checks cargo against manifests and packing lists for accuracy. Uses automated systems to provide in-transit visibility and to document cargo movement operations. Determines and implements necessary safety and security precautions for handling and storing hazardous materials, special cargo and baggage.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:Strong Project/Program Planning and Management skills in order to lead and conduct analysis of complex transportation and sustainment issues.
Self-initiative to develop processes/procedures to develop and assess transportation planning processes and recommend improvements with existing transportation approach
People skills to communicate and coordinate status and recommended improvements with management and to the customer
Experience with sustainment and logistics
Experience with military aircraft operations
Experience with military service operations and customers
Experience conducting business case analysis.
Experience with performance metric measures, risk and reporting techniques
Experience with analysis tools, data management and comparative analysis
Proficient in defining and incorporating transportation requirements in support of program execution and problem resolution
Experience with the transportation of personnel/equipment to both developed and austere locations
Ability to develop and brief presentation material to leadership and to customers on analysis results and recommendations. This includes communicating the analysis in concise terms, detailing impacts, risk and potential efficiencies of the project.
Successful candidate must be capable of integrating across multiple IPTs including sustainment and procurement
Project/program management experience
Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement, affordability, and adaptability
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Transportation or Logistics Discipline
Clearance: Yes, secret minimum
Level: minimum of 5 years
