Northrop Grumman is currently seeking aSr Director of Safety & Mission Assuranceto join ourIntegrated Operationsteam in our Propulsion Systems Division inUtah.

Role Description & Responsibilities:

TheSr Director of Safety & Mission Assurancereports to the Vice President, Integrated Operations for Propulsion Systems and will lead the day to day execution of the Safety & Mission Assurance organization that support operations at Bacchus, Clearfield and Promontory, Utah, in addition to a field office in Florida.

Job Duties:

  • Accountable for and leads, through direct, double solid line, and matrixed reporting relationships, multiple organizations focused on delivery of quality hardware and products for a variety of government and commercial customers; including quality assurance, environmental services, audit, fire protection, industrial health and safety, laboratory testing, NDT, industrial security, and inspection.

  • Develops, communicates and implements vision, strategy, goals and metrics that align with and drive business objectives for cost, safety, quality, customer satisfaction, and continuous improvement.

  • Utilizes effective talent management strategies to attract, retain, develop and engage the right people for the organization.

  • Responsible for establishing and maintaining collaborative working relationships with work teams, customers, program management, and other support organizations within the Propulsion Systems Division.

Experience Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years strong senior management experience.

  • 7-10 years of leadership related experience in manufacturing operations, engineering, and/or program management is preferred.

  • Previous responsibility leading the day-to-day activities in energetics processing and operating areas is preferred.

    Preferred Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated ability to lead a large and diverse group, establish clear expectations and inspire commitment, building teams, value diversity and put people first.

  • Ability to further continuous yet controlled improvements in organizations and processes and strengthening of workforce skills through application of lean thinking principles and tools.

  • Ability to formulate and execute complex project plans and initiatives.

  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing, presentation and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated business acumen. Clearly demonstrated commitment to open communication and customer satisfaction.

  • Experience working with Government agencies.

    Education/Certifications

  • Bachelors in Engineering. An advanced degree in engineering or business is preferred.
